Dear Friends-
My good friend is helping launch a new campaign to support the education of America's disadvantaged youth—especially those in urban cities.
I'm helping her with the One In A Million Campaign, a means through which thousands of underserved students in America will benefit from the generosity of millions of committed people just like us.
What is the One In A Million Campaign?
For the next year, a core group of people committed to educational justice will raise awareness of our country's vital need for quality education for underserved youth, no matter from what neighborhood they come. All money raised benefits a group of schools that serves thousands of low income and minority students who, instead of floundering in school, are prepared to graduate middle school and set the goal to graduate from high school and college. This proven education program gives these students lives beyond poverty; lives of success of which they can be proud.
I have supported the One In A Million Campaign by joining their Facebook page and making a donation (Even $1 helps!). (www.MillionNow.org)
So, what else can you do? Well, I'm also committed to sending out this email to all my Facebook friends and those in my contact lists. Spread the word : recruit your friends, family, teachers, neighbors, boyfriend's sister's dry cleaner, and even some folks you may not like to help them drastically reduce the barriers these children face. Help them fight for the education these kids deserve.
