Mary Claire Ryan, who has served as Executive Director for the Bronx Charter School for Excellence since 2007, has been named Executive Director for the NativityMiguel Network of Schools.
Mary Claire was the former Director of Mission Assessment for the
Network and returns after a two year period at the Bronx Charter School
for Excellence. Prior to her role with the NativityMiguel Network, she
was a Founder and Director of the Cornelia Connelly Center; a
NativityMiguel Network School for girls in New York City.
“During her previous time with the NativityMiguel Network, Mary Claire
worked passionately to ensure the high quality, careful growth and
operational sustainability of all NativityMiguel Schools. Along with
some highly qualified colleagues, she sought to strategically support
schools in their drive to deliver a transformational education to all
students,” stated B.J. Cassin, Board Chairman.
“Having engaged fully in the challenges of conceiving and building a
successful Network middle school – providing leadership in Board,
faculty and staff development; fundraising, financial and facilities
management; community and constituent relations; and strategic planning
– I believe Mary Claire Ryan is uniquely qualified for the Executive
Director position.”
Mary Claire’s strong commitment to education can be seen in her
statement to the NativityMiguel Board, “My experiences at the Bronx
Charter School for Excellence, the Cornelia Connelly Center, and the
NativityMiguel Network of Schools have been immeasurably rewarding.
I’ve learned with certainty the power of a shared purpose, the
satisfaction of solving a thousand problems for the first time and over
and over again, the excitement of defining and knowing success, the
incredible challenge of growing an institution and keeping it alive and
relevant by effectively measuring and showing results.”
Mary Claire received a B.S. in Business Administration from
Misericordia University, Dallas, PA and a M.A. Theological Studies from
Weston Jesuit School of Theology, Cambridge, MA. She also has been a
member on various national and local boards some of which include:
Girls Prep Charter School, Cristo Rey New York High School, and
Nativity Mission Center.
