NativityMiguel Network Announces New Executive Director

Mary Claire Ryan, who has served as Executive Director for the Bronx Charter School for Excellence since 2007, has been named Executive Director for the NativityMiguel Network of Schools.

Mary Claire was the former Director of Mission Assessment for the Network and returns after a two year period at the Bronx Charter School for Excellence.  Prior to her role with the NativityMiguel Network, she was a Founder and Director of the Cornelia Connelly Center; a NativityMiguel Network School for girls in New York City.

“During her previous time with the NativityMiguel Network, Mary Claire worked passionately to ensure the high quality, careful growth and operational sustainability of all NativityMiguel Schools. Along with some highly qualified colleagues, she sought to strategically support schools in their drive to deliver a transformational education to all students,” stated B.J. Cassin, Board Chairman.

“Having engaged fully in the challenges of conceiving and building a successful Network middle school – providing leadership in Board, faculty and staff development; fundraising, financial and facilities management; community and constituent relations; and strategic planning – I believe Mary Claire Ryan is uniquely qualified for the Executive Director position.”

Mary Claire’s strong commitment to education can be seen in her statement to the NativityMiguel Board, “My experiences at the Bronx Charter School for Excellence, the Cornelia Connelly Center, and the NativityMiguel Network of Schools have been immeasurably rewarding.  I’ve learned with certainty the power of a shared purpose, the satisfaction of solving a thousand problems for the first time and over and over again, the excitement of defining and knowing success, the incredible challenge of growing an institution and keeping it alive and relevant by effectively measuring and showing results.”

Mary Claire received a B.S. in Business Administration from Misericordia University, Dallas, PA and a M.A. Theological Studies from Weston Jesuit School of Theology, Cambridge, MA.  She also has been a member on various national and local boards some of which include: Girls Prep Charter School, Cristo Rey New York High School, and Nativity Mission Center.
